I am leaving the country soon without a PR card and so I am going to apply for a PRTD to come back to Canada, is there any successful applicant for a PRTD here? Please share your experience coz I am a bit worried, thank you so much!!!

I am sure there are all kinds of successful PRTD applicants. Why do you not have your PR card? If you don't have it because they haven't finished processing your renewal or you have recently landed you SHOULD be ok provided you have enough time to wait for your PRTD to be processed wherever you are going.

If you are waiting on a renewal of your PR card but that renewal is being held up because of questions pertaining to your RO then I would not take the risk in leaving the country as they might not issue you a PRTD until that is resolved, but in the process you will have to remain wherever you are.

Thanks so much Alurra71. I become PR only in April 2014, I have only my COPR. Do you have any idea how long to process a PRTD in Spain? Do I need to include a letter explaining why I don't have my PR card yet and promise to complete the 730 days RO when I come back? Thank you.

Are you travelling on a visitor visa exempt to Canada passport e.g Spain? If yes then you don't need a PRTD.

Check the website of the visa post serving Spain it will have processing times. Just write you have not received your PR Card. The biggest issue for PRTD applications is concerns over the RO. This don't apply to you so it should be straightforward and processed within the stated timelines which may or may not work with your itinerary...its vacation season soon in Spain!

I want to know that PRDT must apply before fly from Canada or i have to apply i am going without PR CARD.

You cannot apply within Canada. You must file the application when you are outside, and it must be to the CHC/Embassy that serves the country that you are in.
