Travel Document for Permanent Resident Abroad

Hi,

Is there anyone had experience in applying for travel document for permanent resident abroad, especially from New York consulate? Do you know how long will it take to get it?

I landed on Jul-19, 2010. I will go to NYC on Sep-24, 2010 which 2 months after landing and I should get my PR card by then. But in case I don't get it for any reason, then I will need travel document so I just want to know the process to get travel document.

I sent email to New York consulate, no response so far. I will try calling CIC tomorrow too. Hope I get the answer from them.

u should get it in a month i hear. i dont think its an issue...however someone can advise on the travel document as i do not know my self.
