Hello Friends,

I am in process of applying for citizenship and currently facing issues due to my frequent travel to USA :

Since I traveled USA often during the 6 month visa granted to me, i have no records of date I travelled to USA : I this scenario, what should I mention on the citizenship application : Any suggestions : .. ? I have ordered the extract from Canada Border but I guess it will only tell me Canada coming in dates not going to USA ..

2nd Question : I have some open H1B stamps that are expired but not cancelled. Few of friends said they got lot of queries because of expired non- cancelled stamps. Any suggestions .. ?

thanks all in advance.

order the cbsa records and also check your i94 records online and compare them to check the trips.

Get if from:
https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94

Check this link as well:

https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/redir.do;jsessionid=5D040692B16F021F93EAA73C258B0075?redir=faq

Check Q10:

Q10: I travel often to the United States and don't remember the exact dates. What do I do?

A10: To use the residence calculator, you must enter exact dates. If you do not know the exact number of days you were absent, try to calculate an estimated number and after you have printed your absence sheet, attach a hand written note to it indicating that the dates are approximate.

I hope this info helps!

Salil - are these stamps / visas within the 3 or 4 year period within which you are claiming physical presence in Canada?

I think the i-94 approach suggested by thecoolguysam is very resonable.

The I-94 records were life savers to me in the test/interview. Also, request a CBSA report and verify all your entires. It takes about one month to arrive, but it's worth to order because that's what will eventually be used by the officer at the interview when reviewing all stamps in passports. If you can't wait, you can send your application now and order the ATIP report right away, and verify later if there has been any missing entries reported in the residence calculator you sent.

If you forgot to report any travel, can you add it later?
If that happens then they might issue RQ or if they don't issue RQ, they can send you a letter asking explanation for same.
If you don't receive a RQ then they might question it during interview (after the test).

I didn't report my day trips to US. However, after checking the CBSA report I just found out that there was one trip I came back to Canada after midnight so it was no longer day trip. It makes me so worried to receive RQ which will delay my application :'(

Don't worry. Hopefully you don't get a RQ. Once you go for the test and if the officer asks you then provide the explanation during the interview.

By the way, what is the time that shows up on your report?

The time is around 00:23.
Hopefully I can explain about this problem when I have the test.
Anyway, thank you.

Yes, you can explain the same to the officer ( looking at the time 00:23, the officer might be able to understand that you just entered around midnight)
