My husband and I have a work permit that expires on the 26th March 2016. We have to extend the work permit before the expiration date and I have to go on a trip to New York on March 18th 2016 to do an exam. I've read that you can leave Canada, but you may come back as a visitor if Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has not yet decided to extend your work permit. We got the CSQ and we are in the middle of the process to get the Permanent Residency, but I don't think we are going to get it until the end of next year (2016). Since we won't be able to know in advance whether the extention will be approved by the CIC or not by the departure time, do you know if having the CSQ can make the difference? How can we be sure to leave and come back as a workers?
