I informed the CIC that I will be away for couple of weeks. And then after 15 days I requested ATIP notes. But in my notes, nowhere seems to be mentioned about my trip.

Is this okay and normal?

Thanks

Usually those will be internal notes on the system left for the case officer. You will see notes related to progress only on ATIP.

ATIP reports are based on the date you submitted the request, however they send it to us after 30 days.

Its very likely your letter reached the CIC but not updated on system when your ATIP was processed. You may consider calling the
Call Center Agent and inform them about your travel plans. If CIC already updated their system, the agent would tell you that.

Ask the agent name / agent ID, tell the agent since its important information, you want to keep record this call. That will compel the agent make an appropriate note on your file otherwise they are careless..... ;D Bottom line, you would have the burden of proof later.

if you Are traveling abroad you need to

Unavailability - Client must contact the office

You can notify us of your period of unavailability so the responsible CIC office does not schedule an appointment during this timeframe.

If your period of unavailability is expected to be:

2 months or more,
Frequent or partial, or
You have previously notified us of a period of unavailability:
you must send a letter to the CIC office processing your file, indicating:
complete name and date of birth,

address in Canada before departure,

address abroad,

name and phone number of a contact person in Canada,

unavailability periods,

availability, if you return to Canada for a short stay during the unavailability period,

reasons for unavailability,

supporting documents regarding the situation, if applicable, and

signature and date the letter was signed.

The responsible office will communicate with you if they require more information or once an appointment is scheduled

I hope it helps
