Hello I am trying to apply for my wifes visa while we are living in Japan. I have almost everything we need already but we need a translation of a few japanese documents. The cic website was not very helpful about where to have them translated or what was required when you are not in Canada. I know that I need a translation but I also apparently need an embassy official to stamp it as a verified true translation? However when I called the embassy they said that they had nothing to do with visas and they wouldnt even answer my questions.

Does anyone know where I can have a translation done, notarized
? Or exactly what I need to do for a translation to be accepted?

Thank you

If you decide to get your own translation done (uncertified), the embassy can stamp it official if you have the original document with you.

If you don't have the original document with you, you can find an independent certified translator. I found this person through the recommendation from the embassy.

When you call the embassy, you don't have to tell them this is for visa or whatever, just say you need official document translated.
