Hi.....I have a question regarding the translation of documents. My common-law spouse got her police certificate, birth certificate and HUKOU translated in China by the government and specifically the Notory Public Office in her City. Her mom did it because she is here in Canada. My question is given that it was translated by the government and stamped/certified by the notary public does she still need an affidavit or will that be sufficient? any help from people who have gotten these translated in China would be greatly appreciated. We had already got them translated in China by a certified translator but forgot to get certified copy. Want to reduce any additional mail costs.

Was it ok to use the documents translated/notarized by the Chinese Notary Public? I'm worried since they don't do certified copies and affidavit...

Yes, it's fine to use the documents translated and notarized by the Chinese notary public.
Just make sure it's an official notary public. They will ask for your ID card.
Pay extra and have them make two copy's. Send notarized package and keep one for yourself just in case.

Do you know if I should have some documents legalized by the Ministry (Waijiaobu) or by the Canadian embassy? (maybe not need for immigration, but after that)
