I just wanted to know if there will be tax if I will transfer my funds after landing. As of now, im planning to withdraw my cash and leave it to my friend. then once I have open an account I will ask her to deposit to my newly opened account. When POE as for funds, can I show my withdrawal slips? Then can I transfer the funds after 1 month or so, once I will be able to open an account. I dont want to bring my cash or bank draft since I will be having a connecting flight and its very hassle to declare the funds in all airports that im passing. besides i dont feel it safe.

btw, do i need to declare my funds for future transfer?

thanks.

1. You only declare proof of funds at the first airport where you "land"
2. There is no tax on money transferred to Canada.
3. Why don't you leave the money in your present bank and when you open a bank account in Canada, have your bank transfer the funds to Canada?
4. A withdrawal slip is not proof of funds, you either have the funds on you or a letter/statement from your bank showing the balance.

Hi.
1. Do I really need to declare my remaining funds even I am travelling as a student?
2. Thanks.
3. I need to cancel all bank accounts before I leave this country else they will not cancel my visa.
4. What is the best option for carrying money? I read American Express TC is the best way.

Thanks,
