Hi, I have received temporary immigration visa and I am traveling to Canada to obtain my PR which follows after the visa. I am planning to bring more than $10,000 CAD to Canada. However, rather than carrying it in person, I am planning to transfer it beforehand to a third party entity (since my bank won’t allow transfer to my account (hypothetical self Canada account), till I have an NRE account in India, which I can’t at the moment). Anyway my queries are -
1. Can I transfer fund to a third party, by that I mean Is it acceptable by border security to have my funds transferred to third party beforehand, instead of carry cash/ bank order/ stock options etc?
2. If yes, what is the permissible amount?
3. What proof of fund/ supporting documents do I need to carry in this case. As I searched on Canada immigration website I am not sure if only form E677 will be enough.
4. Is there a different form to fill in case I’m not carrying the money in person?
