Hi Guys,

I'm preparing for Fall 16 to pursue Master in Computer Sci from Canada & I need some clarity on preparing my transcripts.

I have already prepared transcripts for my college (affiliated to Mumbai University). So, thats good.

But there's another way to prepare transcripts, which involves getting the attestation done from Mumbai University center near Sydenham College, which takes atleast 25 working days.

My question is: Is it good enough for me to send the transcripts I have prepared from my college, in the sealed signed envelope ?

How have other students prepared their transcripts. Any help / guidance would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Thank You,
Aazim

I could remember when I was applying, I only send Original transcript from the University I completed in a sealed envelop signed and stamped by the Registrar. That is good enough because I had admission. I hope my contribution help? Thanks.

You need to get your transcripts, original and officially translated, and send them on an envelope sealed by your University's Registrar Office. Ask around, they'll probably know how to do it. If they don't, they can just seal the envelope and use an official stamp on the part where the envelope is closed, just so the university you're applying knows they weren't opened or forged. That worked for me.

even though ur university may or may not accept transcripts its a good idea to get transcripts from mumbai university now and keep extra copies as u will need university transcripts for PR for sure. and at that time if ur in canada mumbai university transcript process can be a pain in ur behind. trust me u cant apply for them online or through mail u need to go to the university which is easy if ur in mumbai but becomes a problem later. I somehow cant believe mumbai university is so behind the world.

One word of advise...
Never send ur original docs via courier or post. Send them attested copies. Tell them u will bring originals in person.

>> I was told so . I am still planning to go.

Also, what exactly is a transcript? Is it notarized (with red round stamp) or attested copy ??

transcript is a copy of ur marks/records it includes all ur courses . this copy is attested by ur university and sealed in an envelop and stamped/signature on the folds. u should request several transcripts as u may need them in the future too. I normally have get 5 extra copies just in case.

Wow! Thanks for the explanation. Too sad the CIC website or even insitutes dont explain it so easily like you just did.
