(I did not get reply on this issue and) I am sorry that I am posting this question again,

What are trade certificates?

Can I request visa office to consider my professional certificates (from Sun Microsystems & Microsoft)
as trade certificate?

I would be grateful to you for your help on this issue.

Regards.

Thanks for replying.... I have brought same definition in to attention to forum members in following thread,
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/please-help-to-find-marks-for-education-t50354.0.html

But no one has shared knowledge on visa office's expectation or standard on trade certificate?
I am planning to request to visa office for consideration to acknowledge my (Programmer/Developer) professional certificates (from Sun & Microsoft) as trade certificate but I am not getting views from experts.

Gurus please comment on this.... please.

My aim is to claim 22 points for education....

A three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study - 22

15 years of full-time study - BA (B.Com in my case)
trade certificate - my professional certificate (for Sun Microsystems, Microsoft)

Someone please comment, if I stand a chance.

Thanks for your reply. I am not opposing your information that Industry certificates can not be considered as education by CIC;
and I do not qualify for following
1) Two or more university degrees at the Bachelor's level AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study - 22

but in guidelines CIC has mention about trade (industry) certificate. Can you please share what is that? I am trying to understand if trade certificates are industry/professional certificate?
May be I do not have a chance to claim my professional certificates as trade certificates; but CIC must be having better/clear interpretation for
2) A three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study - 22

There would be some reason for having two different statements ( 1) & 2) ) in guidelines.

Can someone please help to understand point 2), that would help me to have clear picture?

I understand that I am fighting lost battle, but having knowledge (interpretation) of point 2). would be helpful to understand the reason....

Do you have a 3 year certificate or do you have many certificates that add up to 3 years?

I have multiple certificates (approx. 6+). One needs to prepare for the certificate individually & take the exam at authorized center.

As far as I understand (and trust me, I am guessing all this), the qualification should be recognised by the governmental institution in place to do so. Like University degrees are usually recognised by an authority setup by the government.

I don't think a lot of certification (as good and hard as they may be) are recognised by a specific governmental authority.
To get 22 points, one needs (for example) a 3 year diploma, not 3 one-year diplomas. Similarly, they may expect a 3 year trade certificate, not many that add up to 3 years.

That is just my opinion and I could be wrong. The reason why I bring these up is to help you start a discussion. Good luck.

When my employer filed for H1-B Visa (for USA); they got evaluation of my education + experience from a company in USA.
Similarly you can also get evaluation of your diploma/ degree from Canada base company.

In USA job market my experience with duties mentioned in job description is the only criteria to get into job. Although college graduation makes difference, but mainly its the experience which matters in the market.
I believe same applies to Canada job market too. So, evaluation of your studies might be helpful for clear picture to hiring dept., but deciding factor would be your experience.
