Hi,
I just have a question about the requirement that hours must be over 12 months period. I’m working full time from May 30 2020 to 28 August 2020, then I have been working part time from 30 August 2020 till now. I’m wondering if those hours are qualified?
Also, what if I worked part time 20 hours and full time 40 hours per week, will those hours be counted 60 hours for that week?
Thank you

Hi,
I worked 12 months ( 3 months full time and 9 months part time). I only have 1200 hours now and I’m gonna get one full time job on top of my part time job so that I can get 50-60 hours per week. I’m not sure if that will qualify for the stream. ( all jobs are essential)

The 1 year of work experience can be acquired through multiple periods of employment but must equal at least 1,560 hours in the 3 years before the application for permanent residence is received. Work experience must be acquired over a period of at least 1 year; work in excess of 30 hours per week over a shorter period cannot compensate for any shorter overall period of experience.

Since you already have worked 52 weeks (1 year experience) it shouldn't really matter how you achieve the 1560 but I am not sure if they will accept you working 60 hours per week.
They might just count 30 hours or 40 hours or even the 60 nobody knows, it is your risk to take.
The worse case scenario is them only counting max 30 hours per week.

I think you should read the Guide 5069 (May 6), Temporary Public Policies (May 7), , Assessing Application (May 27) . Focus on Work Experience Stream B only and find out. It depends on your status? SP or WP...
  • the work experience must be equivalent to at least 1 year of full-time work experience and must have been acquired in the 3 years preceding the date when the application for permanent residence is received
  • 1 year work experience must be in one or more essential occupations listed in Annex B (or combination and A and B)
  • applicants should provide a copy of the work permit or study permit that demonstrates that they held authorization for the time worked
