Hi,

I am applying under TR to PR and wanted to confirm if my Immigration Medical Exam (IME) done in 2019 will still be considered valid. The Guide 5069 states this:

If you already completed an IME
If you have already completed an IME as part of a previous application (for example: to work or to study), you may not need to complete another one when you apply for permanent residence.

When the panel physician completed your exam they would have given you an:

  • information printout sheet, or
  • IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report form
Please provide a copy of one of these documents or your IME or UMI number from your previous medical exam when you apply online. It does not matter how long ago you had your exam.

If we cannot use your old results, we’ll send you instructions on how to get your medical exam done after you submit your application.
I just want to confirm that I am interpreting this correctly - that is - If I have taken an exam in 2019, I don't need to take it again.

I am applying without any representative so want to be double sure and not take any chances.

Thank you in advance.

Correct. You can upload your past medical for your application. While this is still acceptable however please note that if IRCC thinks that they need a fresh medical they will send you a request for same.

For now you can upload your medical from 2019.
