please I need an advice. Am a full time employer and also a director in my father construction company dully registered in Nigeria. My wife is a final year student in a private university. I have a reasonable financial status to cover for my traveling expenses. And a landed property. I have a quite traveling experience to South Africa and other African countries, my wife as also been to the US. Recently, I and my wife was refused a tourist visa to the U.K. Based on haven't shown sufficient strong family, social or economic ties and no further evidence of assets owned by us and my immediate family in Nigeria.
We are apply for a tourist visa to Canada now. Please I need advise on how to show strong family ties and evidence of further assets owned by us and immediately family. Thanks

Ties refers to a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country.

If this was already highlighted why are you pursuing Canada right away? You should address these issues first so it may not be the same reason for refusal in your Canada visa application. The visa officer assesses you and your wife's assets.. so you cannot declare your Father's property and business.

Hi Kat3onah,
Thanks for your advice. Trying to address the issues that's why I'm seeking help here and It's been over 3months now we were refused a U.K. Visa. My wife is presently on a 2 months holiday break. I think it's best we take hold of that now.
Will a letter from my wife's school, I'd card, school fees receipt, school results and a landed property given to her parents which still bears their name be evidence enough for her tiers. And as for me, I have over $15,000 in my Acct. 2 landed properties, employment letter, payslips, a cover letter from my company, our 1.4 baby birth certificate we're not traveling with and my mum who stays with me. be good enough as a strong ties for me to return. And if possible ongoing projects at work with evidence as well. Thanks

As I said, properties that belongs/or are named to your parents are not counted as an asset. Eventually it will be yours but if it is not on name your name, it is nothing. The $15,000 on your savings account might not be enough for you and your wife as well. I don't know how much money should be in your account. The visa officers sees to it that applicants are financially capable to travel. That even if the applicant travels, they are sure there is still enough money left on the bank once the travel is done. I'm not saying that you will spend all $15,000, a common example I see that gets rejected is like an applicant having $5,000 on the bank when a ticket can cost up to a $1,000 dollars. From this example it is pretty obvious that the applicant just have enough for his/her vacation but are not really financially stable.

Thanks for the

Thanks so much for the reply .
will have to work on my account balance, gets the property changed to her name and apply some other time. But has for our child and my mum being a dependent on me, my personal properties, employment details as stated earlier good enough as a strong ties. I'm an active member of an organization can I get a letter from them stating my role and duties and can my dad Sworn an affidavit stating my active role in the day to day running of the business and other responsibilities? Or any additional details to work on for future purposes. Thanks

Think you will still struggle to get a visa. Why do you want to come to Canada. Given the large volume of Nigerian seeking asylum in Canada you will need a good reason why you want to travel to Canada versus somewhere less expensive and closer than a European country other than the UK.
