Hi,

I'm from the Philippines and is planning to apply a tourist visa in Canada this December. I have heard many interesting places to visit in Canada. I just want to ask if below details will help me have my visa approved.

4 years employed on an IT company (salary is P30,000 a month)
Have enough money on my bank account (P400K +)
Been to two countries: South Korea (5 days - tour) and Australia (2 months - work)
Have relatives in Canada (My aunt and my uncle both from my father's side)

My mom told me that she thinks my travel history is not strong enough to help me have my tourist visa approved. Plus I am only 25 years old and Male. Any suggestions?

Just wanted to make sure because if I have my visa rejected, then my concern is that I might have a bad record and it will be tougher for me to re-apply for another tourist visa.

Thanks.

Research and read this forum.

Essentially--show as many ties to the Philippines as you can. Finances, job, etc.

"Enough money" for you may be a different definition from what the visa officer believes. For your age, it would be great if you show savings of at least PhP 250,000-300,000. Our rule of thumb is here CAD 1000/week plus airfare, plus enough savings that prove you just won't leave your job in your home country.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I have Php 400K + on my bank account. My problem is that I don't have any business here in the Philippines, I have a stable job though for 4 years going 5. Canada has always been my dream destination to visit to, and I would love to cross this one out on my bucket list. I can't wait till I'm 30 before going there because I might already be busy in life.

You don't need a business. Gainful employment is preferred, IMO.

So go ahead and show a COE stating how long you've been in the company, your salary, and your benefits, and bank statements from the last 4 months plus bank certificate. I suggest to also include a daily itinerary and budget.

Do not buy any plane tickets before your visa is approved.

I have a question again though, I think I might have done some error or a major flaw during my preparations. You see, I have two atm's, one is for work or for salary, while the other one is just for savings. I usually only transfer around PHP 2K from my work atm to my savings atm. However, since I have plans on applying for a visa, I decided to transfer huge amounts of money... I heard that this is usually a bad image whenever applying for a Canadian Visa..because the consul might get suspicious as to why the sudden transfer of huge money?

Also, do I have any chances of my tourist visa getting approved?

Thanks again. :)

Uhhhm, show the statements from both your payroll and savings accounts? Even if they're from different banks? Then write a brief cover letter that this account is your payroll, while the other is your savings? If they're accounts in the same bank, even better. The bank certificate can show both accounts, and then they'll be backed up by the requisite monthly statements. If you really want to, write a brief cover letter that you transferred so and so money from your payroll into your savings account on X date. But the statements should be enough if they show the "from" account.

Applying for a visa is just common sense and following instructions. Try to forget everything you've supposedly heard.

Hello bellaluna, if the visa arrives after the dates mentioned in the tourist visa application, what changes needs to be done? Merci. Do we all have to mention there had been changes in the travel plan or nothing to be stated.
