Need an expert advise as i am totally confused on what to do. Im currently in Canada as a tourist and with a visitor record valid until Sept 30. Yesterday I received my working visa that is valid til 2015 and included in the passport is a letter that says that I have to present the letter together with my lmo, contract and other docs to a border services officer upon entering Canada before they issue a work permit. I'm in ON but my employer is in AB and still waiting for them to send me a plane ticket going to AB.
Visitor record is valid til sept 30 2013
LMO was issued March 20 2013
LMO expiry date July 27 2013
Applied for WP April 12 2013
WP issued August 22 2013
Questions are
1. Do I need to file an extension of stay as a tourist so I won't lose my status in case they don't send my plane ticket before sept 30.
2. Where should i get a work permit? Can it be here in Toronto ON or it should be in AB?
3. LMO expired July 27 prior to issuance of the work visa but application was filed before the LMO expired. Does my employer need to apply for another LMO?
(I'm asking this coz a friend of mine was held overnight by cbsa coz the lmo was expired when she got here)
