Hello friends,

I've received a refusal tourist visa to Canada, my aunt sent me an invitation to come to visit her in Toronto From Georgia (Country), however the reason they provided was " Purpose of the visit, and they are not convinced I m going to go back to my country, however I have reapplied through the same lawyer with the same application, except with more proof of documents stating that my purpose of the trip is to attend a close friend of mines wedding, I have purchased a ticket with a return ticket, I have a great job back home which I have also indicated all the proof that I have to go back, also my mother is having a surgery a month later so I need to be back to support her during her surgery, I have also received a doctors note and proof of the surgery.

I'm wondering how long will the application take to process, the first application took approx 1 month, but I reapplied immediately after my refusal and I have provided all the proof of documents to state that my purpose and my return is a must.

would this make their decision simpler and get the visa? please help if you know or have been in this situation before..

Thank you!!

Buying tickets is a bad plan until you have the TRV. It won’t add any value to the application and could cost you the airfare. The question will be if the documents you submitted effectively addressed the real reasons for the refusal. Those sent to you are generic. The lawyer should have ordered the GCMS notes before reapplying so you can address the visa officers concerns.

The ticket I purchased, I have added insurance to it in case it bites me with delay or refusal, we have responded with the same application process with same info however with further proof for what they doubted, which was 'Purpose and Not convinced I will go back home" purpose was the wedding and I have officially received a signed invitation letter from the groom and bride with a proof signed contract from their venue they have signed. Convincing them I have to return is I have the permanent job I have to be at with a proof letter from the company and their signature with address and info to contact if in doubt and my mother has a surgery a month later which I have to be back in which I have also provided proof from the doctor and all the documents indicating her surgery date and location. I believe I have a strong feeling this will work this time as I do not want to miss on my friend's wedding, I'm only planning to go for two weeks, however, you never know how the officer's mood will be who will be reviewing my application.

My question is Whether will it take sooner than last time to look into my application, last time it took them 22 business days to receive a response, and I heard for applications that were refused before and they have reapplied they look into it faster than the ones who are applying for the first time. having said this, my ticket is for sept 26th and I applied 10 days ago.

any responses will help, cheers!

Maybe I am missing something here but regardless whether your application is rejected or not the current published processing time for applications from Georgia is 39 days. So given you only applied 10 days ago the best expectation for an approval would be after your flight date. Granted decisions could be sooner but no way to predict hence the processing times published create a realistic expectation.
