Hi All,

My husband who work as a Manager Marketing with a company engaged in export/import business here in India. He often travels overseas for professional reasons.

He has also worked for a Canadian company based in Montreal - Quebec in May 2005 as their purchasing represetative to India but he was based in India only but got his monthly salary from Canada itself. His employer in Montreal invited/called him for an annual meeting to decide their purchasing policy for the year, they sent him the invite letter, company's registration in Canada etc. he applied for visitor visa on the basis of those documents but was refused on grounds that he is single, young and has no incentives to return his home country (he was single then), he did not appeal against the decision because the meeting was over then and there was no use for him to travel. He left the company after few months because he got another better work opportunity......to be precise he worked for this Canadian company from July 2004 to January 2006. His visa to Canada was refused on 23rd May 2005.

He is travelling overseas since year 2003 and his travel history is as follow:

Schengen Visa: 10 times
(countries travelled Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium)

United Kingdom: 2 times

United States: 2 times (he holds 10 years multiple b1/b2 Visa)

He presently working with a large company and wishes to travel Canada on visitor visa because he wants to see one of his good friends who has immigrated to Canada about 4.5 years ago and now lives in Brampton, Toronto.

Do you think he can get visitor visa as a tourist? he doesn't want to ask his friend to sponsor him infact he doesn't need because he draw good salary. He just want to visit as a tourist.

I will await your comments.

Regards,
RAJNI

It is a difficult question to answer as it all depends on the visa officer evaluating the case.

He will have good chances now that he is married and if he can show strong ties to India (like job, property ...). He would also need a letter of invitation from someone in Canada.
