I am planning to enter Canada on ICT (intra company transfer work permit) along with my wife and a kid.
I want to bring my mother along.
1) How soon can she apply after I land in canada for a tourist visa o
2) Will it be tourist visa - family visit category or some other category
3) My mother plan to show proof of funds in her name as being about 10L INR and a property document. Is that enough or should add anything more to support the case to show family ties or finances ? I have 2 married sisters,, one lives in India and other in UK.
4) Do I need to send an invitation letter to her
5) Are there any other documents required from my side?

Thanks a bunch in advance . Kindly respond..

Thanks.

1) She can apply for a visitor visa whenever she wants to. Keep in mind that she is only allowed to visit Canada - not move here.
2) She will apply for a regular tourist visa. There is no family category.
3) I would include as much evidence as you can to show that she has strong ties to India.
4) No - you don't have to. But you can if you wish.
5) If you are going to be supporting her financially during her visit to Canada, then you will want to include your financial information in the application as well.

Thanks a lot !

On 5, self support or I supporting her, will make a stronger case? any typical guidelines?

Self support is stronger.

1. It's better to apply after you move in and invite your mother.
2. Tourist visa, purpose of the trip is to visit family.
3. Better to show furthermore. Try to show some fixed asset in country to prove country tie.
4. Yes, find here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/visit/letter.asp
5. Your pr cards, financial statements.
