Hi Guys
Best wishes for new year.

I applied under skilled labor way back in 2007 Jan. at Singapore office and its still under processing.

Today I visited the this forum after a long while and to my surprise, I found that there are many candidates who appear to have applied in 2009 and got visa same year.

Is there any new rule or change post 2007 cases and current cases getting visa with in 1st year of application?

any feedback...!!

If you are in those 38 list, than you can also apply and later on drop the other application.

You will forfeit your fee though (no refund). Those who are on the 38 list and don't mind sacrificing the fee that they paid for the initial application should not wait but reapply ASAP. I am not ready to do that (i.e forfeit my initial application fee), as I personally feel that it is unfair.

One of my colleague having similar case like you (old rule applicant) but fortunately he made a query and ask them why you making delay for my case though I'm among 38 list also. After few days he got medical request............ So I think if you are in 38 list......... then let them clear it hopefully you may get any positive news from them. Best of luck to all of you.

Well, in this scenario he must have submitted his documents and then enquired, right?
We are talking of applicants who are still waiting for the documents update letter not to talk of Medicals. The fact that your friend had already received his documents update letter reveals that an IO had already opened and started working on his file. The communication your friend sent them had alerted them only to the case again. That's my take.
I believe it was just a coincidence. I tried the same by asking them about my case sometimes last month, hoping that if they looked @ it at all it will show them that I am on the 38 list but, all I got was a generic reply. I don't think they touch your case unless it is time and an IO is ready to work on it. I may be wrong, but that again is my take.
