Took 1-year post grad certificate with optional co-op but failed co-op. Which study period should I put now for the Education section?

Hello!

So I'm trying to fill out the Education Background section on the CEC application and I need advice:

- I took a 1-year post grad certificate of HR here in Canada from Sept 2017 to April 2018 but it had an optional co-op for the summer (from April to August 2018)
- I decided to take the optional summer co-op after finishing the core program. However, during the period of April-August, I failed the co-op (due to personal reasons with the employer) and instead of being withdrawn, the school just decided to fail me
- I did receive my certificate for the HR program a few years back but I noticed the certificate was dated April 2018
- I also got my transcripts from the school and it showed there how I took a co-op semester for Summer 2018 and I got an F for it.
- After the HR post-grad certificate program, I also took another 1-year post-grad certificate program in Marketing during the Fall of the same year (Sept 2018 to April 2019)

My question now is what's going to be the date/duration I'm going to enter for my HR program?
- Do I just need to put there I took the HR program from Sept 2017 to April 2018?
- Or do I indicate I took the HR program from Sept 2017 to August 2018 (this includes the optional summer co-op)

I'm worried if they might see any gaps if I put the first option but then I'm also worried that if I put the second option, the certificate I'm gonna show only says April 2018 but then transcripts would also show I took the summer co-op.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to ask away for any further questions.

Thanks in advance!
