In true British style I’m going to moan in the hope there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

I’ve had two open work permits (spousal) first one, 1 year, new one 2 years (ends Nov 19)
I have two years NOC 0 0114 as a Manager of Ops in Toronto (3 years total working here)
I’m 42
Points quite low as no formal meaningful education when I was young
Ielts high but not enough to make me tempting
No LMIA or formal job offer though I’m in full time work (confused of if that’s a job offer per say, assume not with no LMIA)

I’d like to apply for PR middle of next year but I can’t see how I can fit in with any particular CEC. For all i’ve got a blooming brilliant job here and been here for years, I really can see that they may not see value in my economic enhancement here.

Anyone any ideas for a moan old Brit?

Cheers!

CEC is a points based program and right now only those with 440+ points are being selected. Given your age and the fact you have no formal education, I don't think you'll score anywhere close to the points required to be selected unfortunately. Same applies for the FSW / Express Entry program.

Assuming those are a no go - your next option is to look into the Provincial Nominee Programs. I would recommend that you research the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program options. Although I believe Ontario requires you to be a university or college graduate to qualify. You can find the program details in the link below:

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/index.htm

Does your spouse have formal education? If so, it may make a lot more sense for your spouse to be the primary applicant and for you to be included as a dependent in that application.

Thank you Scylla,

Was thinking that’s was the best direction so it’s good to get the same understanding.

I’ll look at options.

The first thing to look at would be to see if making your spouse the Principal Applicant would give you enough points. If yes, don't wait : )

2nd thing would be looking into getting a valid job offer. With your NOC (skill level O), that would be worth 200 points. You would need to get an LMIA to have valid job offer. There are 2 types of LMIAs - one to support temporary work permits or dual intent ($1000 application fee), one to support permanent residence applications only (free). The application process is exactly the same. Given that you still have more than a year on your current permit, you could ask your employer to do the free application. LMIA applications are not fun, but they are doable...

You might be eligible under a traditional (non-express entry) PNP application - http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPWORKER_WHO.html
but that process is slow and costly, would be my last choice.
