Hello Experts,

I am confused as I heard Mr. Alexander saying to approve around 280,000 candidates for PR of Canada in year 2015 but only around 8,000 invitations have been issued in first five months so are there any other acceptations too for PR or EE is the only way and all will be selected through EE. We should expect a lot of candidates being selected in next rounds if EE is the only case.

Thank you,

Vinesh

The 280K is for ALL immigration streams. Not just EE.

Yes, there are many other ways you can apply for PR:

plus most of last year's application in 2014 will land in 2015.

With their 6 month process time expectation, people who got ITA after July 2015 are likely to land in some time in 2016.

Thank you for your reply.

Can I find out in CIC website somewhere that how many candidates might be selected through EE?

Also, I'm not sure if a candidate who is in Canada can have any other option for applying PR other than EE or PNP. Please advise on that

Thanks again,

Vinesh

FSW/FST/CEC target is 120-140k in 2015, noted in the 2014 annual report to the parliament. But part of these intakes are from Pre-EE applications of last year (as they will land in 2015) so we actually don't know how much of it falls into earlier part of EE. Obviously, people who apply later this year will get accepted and land in 2016 so it's not included in this number. Some rumoured 25000 ITAs will be given within this year, but I seriously doubted.

there are others ways for PR like spousal/Family PR, Investment (?), Humanitarian, etc.

I think there should be more than 25K ITA's this year, because every year canada has similar targets doesn't matter when people landing and despite all backlogs.
For example FSW 2014 principal applicants quata was 25000, CEC - 8000, so last year they accepted at least 33000 new applicants. For this year CEC quata was increased so they will have to issue similar amount ITA's just to keep up with targets for upcoming years. Also add PNP's.

But again it's just my opinion.
