Hi there,

I got a letter saying that my application is ready to be finalised and i sent off copies of all the pages of my passport to Sydney so they can send me my visa to Canada. The letter says not to make any travel plans, purchase tickets, or sell property etc.
Do they mean don't make travel plans or buy tickets ANYWHERE or to just Canada? it doesn't specify and it's New years break soon and my partner is visiting from Canada for a few months and we were wanting to travel to an island or Australia for a 2 week holiday. Can we not go anymore while we wait for my visa?
The letter said my window of time to arrive in Canada was before the 5th of June, 2015.
Thanks guys!

Hi

You can go wherever you want. That's just something standard that they say to people so that they don't pack up their lives and book everything before they actually get their COPR.

Yes, they definitely mean 'do not act as if you are going to Canada for sure', so do not quit your job, sell all your property and buy a one-way ticket to Canada. Vacation travel is fine.
