I am an American citizen currently in the outland PR process. We applied in January and are still awaiting a biometrics request. I wanted to get that done before going to stay with my husband in Ontario while the PR application processes, but I already have a trip planned to see him in June, and I wanted to stay there while the outland app finishes processing. Since we're unsure now when we will get a biometrics request, it's looking like we may have to drive across the border to do it if I'm in Ontario when I receive the request.
So my question is, when you drove to get biometrics done across the border, did Canadian customs give you a hard time coming back? I know I am visa exempt as an American, but my husband is afraid they may still deny me entry when we are driving back in (he says customs seems to be tougher driving in versus flying in). I told him the chances of that are slim, but he is still worried. Can any of you share your experiences with Canadian customs driving back?
