I love Canada and it's my dream to live there again. I once spent six months in Montreal and it was the best six months of my life. Last year my wife and I applied through express entry, we had around 440 points, with my wife as lead applicant , enough to get the Ontario provincial nomination, so I went to Canada to look for a house, but while I was there I found out Ontario had stopped issuing nominations!
They are still issuing them to French speakers, and I do speak French, but I would not get any points for age.I'm in my 50s and my wife is her 30s.
So now it seems the only way is to go as a student, and although I like this idea, I have my doubts. I would like to study, I think I need to retrain and get new skills and I'm thinking of either information technology or social work. But I'm worried that family responsibilities will make it hard. My children are in Hong Kong and my parents are in the UK, what if my parents or my children get sick when I'm studying, and I need to leave Canada to take care of them, will I be able to finish the course? Well I still get the permanent residence?
Any advice?
