To go back home before PGW

I have quick question regarding to go back home after completion of study and before getting Post Grad Work permit.

Hi

Someone has any experience and heard about who went to go home just after completion of study and came back canada without PGW and applied after came back canada?

I understand that we have 90 days after completion of study to apply PGW.

But, My friend want to go back home just after completion of study and want to come back within 90 days before applying PGW (he has vaild study permit and visa)

Is there any issue if he will not apply PGW and will come back canada on study visa with valid study permit instead of work permit and work visa?
