To apply in or out of Canada

I apologize if this has been answered, but I couldn't find anything recent on this. My wife is Canadian (chatham, Ont) and I am American. We have been married for 8 years and have a son, 8 yrs old, who was born in Chatham and a daughter, 3 yrs old, born in US. (all are Dual citizens, except me) We would like to move to Ontario in June of next year, 2015.

My question is this: Would it be better to just cross over in June and apply for residency in Chatham? We were planning on staying with her folks until we could get it processed. I understand I couldn't work during this time, but we have a few bucks saved and it wouldn't be a problem.
OR
Should we apply now while in US and hope that it gets done by June??

I have a Master's degree in Ed. Technology and have many years in broadcasting. So I could apply for Skilled worker? Is that faster? Or is Sponsorship the way to go?

Any help?

Bob

Some people from the States have been getting their PR in three months these days via the outland route. It's amazing!

Currently just consider the inland process to be non-existent. They have apparently stopped processing altogether. Apply Outland.

With the speed that outland applications are being processed these days for US citizens, it is no contest (as fast as 3 months!!!). OUTLAND all the way.

Outland. It's not even a question.

You will hate your life if you apply inland.
