Dear All Bangladeshi Applicants,

I am new in this group.Ive sent my initial application (skilled worker)last week.

I have a query regarding police clearance cert from Bangladesh.How can I obtain a police clearnce from a place where i was staying many years back? I know the Police Dept/Thana they usually issue certificate based on your last residential address (need to show evidence from your passport).

Can any one pls help me in this regard.

hi SUMON,

first of all, bear in mind that most police officers in BD are corrupted.

i don't know where r u currently:

1. if u r in BD but not in the city from where u wanna collect PCC: u send someone whom u know who stays in that city to go to local police station with a letter from u that u authorise him to collect PCC on ur behalf. give the officer in charge some money & tell the officer that u have to submit the PCC within 2 weeks to Embassy. if ur friend can convince this officer in the 1st meeting & can satisfy this officer with money, u will receive PCC withion 7-10 days.

2. if u r not in BD & need PCC from a city in BD: this happened tome. so i will tell u how i did it. me & my wife are in UK. my father is in Khulna & i had to collect PCC from Khulna Thana(for me)& Malibag Thana (for my wife) as our passport address was that. So, my father 1st went to Khulna Thana. they said i have to go to London Embassy in Uk to get a letter attested by them saying that i need PCC for Canada & my father can collect it on my behalf. And the same for my wife. We both went to London Embassy, paid £10 for 2 letter attestations & sent it by courier to my father. My father took my letter to Khulna Thana, paid 500taka. the officer-in-charge said it will take 1 month as they have to send the application to Police HQ in Dhaka & then to Foreign Ministry in Dhaka. we trusted the officer & said ok, we will wait. After 1 month, we called the officer in mobile & he said it will take another 2 weeks as Ministry is still looking at the paperworks. Ath that point, we understood the police officer wants more money & we didn't know how much he wanted. So, my father decided to go in person to Dhaka to apply for my wife's PCC. Even though it was Moghbazar/ Malibag Thana on her passport, my father went to Police HQ in Ramna, took my uncle with him, asked the officer-in-charge straightway how much he wanted to do PCC in 3 days, gave him 5,000 taka & got the PCC for my wife in 5 days. He also went to Foreign Ministry to collect my PCC on the same day he received PCC for my wife & he collected my PCC from there.

3. if u r in Dhaka: get a bank draft payable to DMPjust go to Ramana HQ (not Raman local thana). u can also see the folowing link:

Thank you for the detail information.I am sorry to know all the hassels you took to get PPC .Currently i am residing in Australia.I have just sent my initial application so i have few months time to collect all the supporting docs.I want to collect all the docs before they ask me to send.I wonder,may be, the BD Police will advice me to collect a letter from the Australian Embassy,like what they did with u.

I came to know yesterday the steps to get a PPC from dhaka from one of the member of this group.still i have few queries-

1.When u say London Embassy,do u mean BD embassy in London?

2. What r the docs u sent to ur dad? (like one passport photo,passport page photocopy,ssc ceritificate photocopy,authorization letter certified from the embassy,a written application to police commissioner...anything else?)

3. I used to live Dhaka for 12 yrs.but before that i had my schooling and college life in Barisal.How I can i collect PPC from there?My passport shows my previous address as in Dhaka-before relocating to Aus.If i need a police cert from Barisal then what should i do? Where the police officer will do their routine investigation or do the background check in Barisal.There is no one there who can talk on behalf of me,i mean-can say-yes i was staying there.I can only show my academic docs as a proof of my stay.Hope u could understand what i am trying to say.

I know the Police Dept,how there are like.They only do investigation based on the address written on your current passport.Without money,they will not talk.If nothing works,then probably I have to follow ur footsteps.

2. i sent one passport photo,passport page photocopy,authorization letter certified from the embassy,a written application to police commissioner & my father writing letter to Police commissioner that he wants to collect PCC on my behalf
3. i think it will be same as in my case for Khulna. but in ur passport is Barisal's address relevant at all? i mean what address u have got for ur Present Address & Current Address?

In my passport the current address mentioned is Dhaka.But i was staying in Barisal for 3 years since my 18th Birthday because I was studying there.So,according to the rule,i have to collect a PPC from Barisal (as i was leaving there more than 6 months).In my passport,nothing mentioned about Barisal.So,I am anxious -how can i collect a PPC from Barisal?

if barisl is not mentioned in passport, u don't have to go to any Barisal Police Stattion & ask for PCC.

as fas as i know (it might have changed after i collected my PCC), the rule for PCC in BD is that a PCC is issued for whole Bangladesh. However, a PCC will be issued by the related Police Station for the Present or Current address in ur passport. for example, if u live in Barisal for 10 years, but in ur passport current addrss is Sylhet & permanent address is Dhaka; the Police station in either Dhaka or Sylhet will give ur PCC. even though u hav lived in Barisal for 10 years. it doesn't matter as the address of Barisal is not in the passport.

Hi all I am planning to land Toronto in june but I need you a advise that we are 3 member me my wife and my daughter who is 6 years but the problem is that my daughter's pasport photograph doesnt' match with her present appearence. Coz the pasport photograph taken while she was 1 year, but her COPR used recent photograph

any suggestion while passing immigration in Dhaka Airport

Thana usually issue certificate based on your last residential address.No problem Sumon, have 300-500 taka prepared to bribe the inquiring officer. If you can bribe, the inquiry will be good.

Simin, Can you go and ask the CHC Dhaka to get cleared about your baby's photo problem?
