To activate the YP Visa I have to go to the border?!! ... help

Hello,
I am in Canada and I have applied for the Young Professional Visa. I am still waiting for the results from the immigration (step 2). But I know I have to go to the border to activate my visa!

Question:
Can I go to any border Canada / USA or does not any border make this changes in the passport?
Do I need a tourist visa for USA (I am from Germany) to cross the border and to go to the border office or can I do this without? because I would not stay in USA?
What is the closest border from Kelowna?
How difficult is it ..to explain that I just need to activate my visa?
Any experiences?
And with this visa can I go in and out from Canada without problems? (holiday in Germany)

If you are referring to the International Experience visa for Young Professionals, you will not be able to alter your visa status until your processing has been completed by CIC.

The process of changing your visa at the flagpole is simple and you will not require a visa to the USA. I recently wrote a post on my blog about flagpoling, you can google routleylaw and find my blog and find it easily.
