just update for my CEC processing in Seattle.
i applied in May 2010 and AOR in August 2010. file got transferred to Seattle in March 2011.
i got a mail today dated 21 Sep 2011, medical request and some other documents needed.
police certificate from NewZealand(me) and Australia(my wife) and birth certificate(we didnt send them so)
also IMM8 Generic. they said in 90 days i have to send it.
my point is CEC is not the fastest way to get PR. i mean my case. i should have applied for PNP.

The background/security check will be the same, no matter CEC, PNP, etc. If it is long in your individual case, it will not matter under which program you applied.

Similarly, if you fail to follow directions and send the proper documents, it will take longer, no matter which program. Don't blame CEC for that :)

i guess you are right. i expected CEC is the fastest like within a year. but didnt happen to me. if you got PNP approved, you dont have to renew your WP which is bonus to foreign workers. dont need to be paranoid about extension.
my WP will expire in July 2012, hope dont need to renew again. i thought my documents were perfect and no mistake, but wasnt. anyways, i am happy with their job.

given your timeline, I don't think you will have to worry about renewing your work permit :)

Hope to be able to get PR within Spring. I phoned doctor to make an appointment but busy so I don't know when I can get medical exam. Oh boy. takes longer than what I thought.
it's almost 2 years since I applied in May 2011. CIC needs updated IMM Generic I guess.
They want to know wheher I'm still married or divorced,
working or not? Anyways, I just want to get it over.
