Hi, Thank you veryyy much for the previous help.

Now I have a question regarding the landing...My husband was the one who sponsored me to Canada, and now I will be going there in Feburary IA.

Since I was given suchh a short notice, I am not ready to leave U.A.E immidiately. So right now, I am booking my flight for only one week. So I can land in Canada and apply for the PR card

So my questions are :

1) Can my husband receive my PR card on my behalf?

2) If he can't, can I apply for a travel document from the Canadian Embessy in U.A.E in order to travel to Canada once again?

3) Most importantly, when I land in Canada, will I be questioned about such a short stay? I mean will the authorities get suspicious or anything? What if they ask me why I am only coming for one week ?? ??? ???

Please try to help me if anyone has any experience in this issue. I am especially worried about the third question :-[

Thank you once again!

No problem at all. If they ask why you are only coming for one week, tell them. You didnt have much time to prepare before landing so you are returning home to tie up your affairs etc. Its perfectly legitimate, lots of people do this.

When you land, you will be asked to provide a canadian address they can send your PR too. You can give your husbands address. The card will take approx 6-8 weeks to arrive, then your husband can send it to you in UAE. Or if you wish to return sooner you can apply for the travel document.

You will have no isses whatsoever. When you land, they are unlikely to ask you how long your stay is.

That's correct - they're unlikely to ask how long you intend to stay, and you probably shouldn't mention that you are returning in a week. Give them your husband's address for the PR card and that should satisfy them. If you want to come back before your PR card arrives, you will need to get the travel document.
