Hi All,

I am highly anxious about getting PR for new born baby outside Canada. In the condition that my wife and I are holding Canadian PRs, could someone tell me how long it is going to take to get PR for my baby.?

Thanks much in advance.

Do you have definite plans to return to live in Canada soon?
You will need to get a passport for your baby from whichever country the baby is a national of.
Then you can get a tourist visa (if the country is a visa country) and travel to Canada with the baby
and file your application to sponsor from inside Canada.

I believe the route you'll have to take is to bring your child to Canada as a 'visitor',
and sponsor him when you are in Canada, because you and your wife are not Canadian citizens.

Although it would probably be faster than some other applications, under the recent revisions, all applications
are expected to be completed in one year. Your child's application might be much faster than that, but nobody
can promise you that. The workload is being managed in a way to make weight times more standard across the board.

Hi

It will probably take around 6 months.

You need to apply for a TRV for the child. If the TRV is refused, you can try for a TRP. If the TRP is refused, one of you will need to return to Canada for the duration of the sponsorship process.
