Does anyone know of any situation whereby someone has been a permanent resident for longer than five years, left Canada for an extended time, returned to resettle and was given a new permanent resident card but didn’t have to then wait until Physically present for 1,095 days before applying for citizenship?
in other words, can time spent outside of Canada ever count towards the physical presence residency requirement to apply for citizenship (excluding if your citizen spouse was serving in the military)?
When I reapplied to renew my PR card, I sent documentation proving that I had travelled with my citizen spouse that sponsored me originally to satisfy my PR card renewal residency requirement. I’ve read this is not possible but was wondering anyway since I was PR from 2001 uNeil 2007 and returned to resettle in 2020
