Hi,
I have applied for a BC PNP on 26th Aug 2014 and got the file number 9th September 2014. In the application I have included my family (wife and one Kid) and I am waiting for the approval
1. After getting the approval and Visa, what is the step to get visa for my family members.
Generally you need to get PNP approval (or nomination letter/certificate) and then file the application for PR (federal stage-CIC). When all of this is completed, and a positive result is obtained, you will be given the visa and CoPR. I am assuming here "family members" you mention refer to your wife and kid. If you included them in your application (BC PNP and PR application to CIC), they will also be issued visas and CoPRs along with you. You do not have to file a separate application for them. Again, this is if you included them in your applications.
Also what will be the normal time taken for this ?
There is no definite timeframe for the completion of the process. CIC provides published processing times that can be used only as a guide, not as an absolute/guaranteed timeframe to complete an application. Note the total time to complete a PR application is PNP processing time + CIC processing time, and both of these times change. You can check CIC's published processing times (PNP-Federal stage) here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-ec.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/provincial.asp
Again use those as a guide - these are not absolutes. CIC's note is it representative of the timeframe in processing 80% of cases for the past months.
2. I am planning to bring them 1 year after my visa approval. So is there time line in which we need to bring our family?
The "timeline" you refer here is dependent more on the validity/expiry date of the immigrant visa that will be issued by CIC for you and your family's entry to Canada. You and your family need to "land" (i.e. travel to Canada, and activate your PR status by presenting your CoPR to border officers) before the expiry date of the visas. Visa expiry date is normally 1 year from date of medicals/IMEs received (shown in eCAS), and is observed often to be issued with a few months left before expiry. There are some who receive their visas with more than 6months left before the expiry date, others have it much lesser, but generally it is less than 1 year.
3. For adding one more kid after my visa approval, will it take more time - what will be nominal time for this
If there is a change in family composition (i.e. new child) then it is advised to update the application while it is in process such that the examination of the new addition is included before the issuance of the visas. There will be added time as the new addition will have to pass through the same admissibility and eligibility checks for processing that you and your family also went through, so expect to add additional months to the processing time. Note that if there is any change in family composition during the process, you have to notify the visa office/case processing office processing the application to include/declare the new addition.
