Time out of Country

Hi,
I am a PR and will have been a PR for 4 years this September. I am wanting to apply for Citizenship as soon as possible. I have been out of Canada and in the UK for 3 months this year and would like to go back to the UK around Christmas time for another 2 months - would being out of the country for 5 months out of 12 be held against me or hinder my application in any way? I would like to apply for Citizenship and then leave for the 2 month trip. Is this possible or is it better to put in my application and then just stay in Canada until I get my Citizenship?

According to current rules you have to be present in Canada for 4 years in the last 6. So if you will be a PR for 4 years in Sept that means that you can apply in December.
If you plan to leave for another 2 months you will have to re-calculate your physical presence and then apply. Tere is a physical presence calculator on CIC website.

Answer: No, if you meet all the other residency requirements

Answer: You can do that! However, if I were you, I would not! The reason: It is possible that you might get fingerprint or interview invitation within 2 months. Some places process the applications fast....
