Time gap between initial application and later application with all documents

Hi everybody,


I am submitting my initial application today(with the fee of 1100 canadian dollars -for myself and my wife). Once this application is received by the Sydney office in Nova Scotia, how many months does it take USUALLY for the CIC to ask us to submit the next stage application to the local immigration office( for me its Buffalo, NY). Please can you tell me the time in between as I am collecting my Indian Police certificate tomorrow from the Indian consulate, Chicago. I know it has a validity period of only 3 months. so it has a time limit upto september 30,2009. Will it be reasonably sufficient.
