Time after AIP

Hi All,

My wife has sponsored me for PR in Canada, once I receive the AIP (first stage approval), generally how long will it take to finalize the PR?

I know each case if different but curious what times people are seeing?

FYI: we did an Inland application to Vegreville.

Depends on which office the file is referred to, Mississauga, Calgary, Etobicoke a long backlog, the other offices, 2/4 months.

5/6 months for first stage approval or referral to CIC.

I called this in and they told me that I will get first stage approval end of this month.

My question is how long after the first stage approval is it untill i get my PR card? I am here in Canada on a work permit that expires end of the 2010 and i am hoping to keep my job so i need the process completed.

Just looking for a timeline on how long the overall process after first stage approval takes so i can talk to my employers and plan this out.

I sent in my app on august 21, i spoke to the reps today and they informed me i should have first stage approval end of this month.

Once you get first stage approval ii think you can apply for work permit, health care etc...so should not be a problem.....i think
