Ties to your residence country

Hi, if both me and my spouse having a permenant job , can that satisfy the Visa officer that we will leave canada at the end of the visit , we are planning to apply for single entry visa ( with 10 days hotel reservation and return air ticket ) to clear a profissional exam for a regulated occupation, we both expats living in UAE, plus i have a good travel history includes visit and student visa to the UK.
will appreciate any feedback

You should also provide information on assets you have in your home country (house/land/businesses especially). If you're renting, show that you have a lease. Also, if your family is still in the UAE, include that information - human ties also count. Any clubs, religious organizations, or memberships that you are a part of should also be included.

Hi, each case is studied , analyzed differently. There are guidelines they are looking for like family ties in your country, personal assets, job situation, bank account, travel history , criminal record. You must convince them that you will return to your country. If they have one little doubt on you they can refuse you.

thanks for the feedback , if i provide a paid airline ticket from my residence country to another country dated after my return from canada , will that be enough prove that i have no intention to stay in canada after my visa expires ? , can anyone suggest a canadian insurance company ( has online service ) to purchase a travel insurance from ?

No need to purchase travel insurance/ paid airline ticket before visitor visa is approved. They might reject you.

Hi there, i dont necessarily agree with Khaldi. I think its better to buy Medical insurance and show them that you are prepared to come and that you are not coming here to get medical care. I dont want to make advertisement for any travel insurance company but i have dealt many times with Blue Cross. Its a Canadian insurance company that sells medical insurance for foreigners. It is refundable if you cancel before coming here, so if u dont get your visa, u are refunded. It is not mandatory to purchase and show IC insurance but it surely shows that u are well prepared.
For your airline ticket that u are talking about, its not necessary to do that. Just show you have a return ticket to your country, besides buy another ticket for after this trip might involves cancellation fees or it may even be non refundable. Dont bother with that.

Agree with Ouihel. The VO know that most people buy refundable plane tickets, so they are of little value to prove you will leave Canada. VO is looking for something that you would NOT walk away from to prove TIES. Most people would not think twice about walking away from half a plane fare if it came to that. Showing your solid reason for the visit, providing an itinerary, ongoing employment at home (letter from boss with details), property, family, etc will go much farther to proving your ties and reason for the visit. Taking the professional exam makes it obvious you have future plans to come to Canada. Clearly stating that and the fact that you would do nothing to jeopardize your future visa applications may be something to think about. Include previous travel history which proves you have followed the rules and returned home and have disposable income for holidays. Goes to show good establishment in home country.

Like plane tickets, medical insurance can also be refundable. It's makes no difference.
