Someone I know is insisting on buying my flight tickets from India to Canada saying it's much cheaper if we buy from there. Is it true?

I do know for a fact that when I was living in the uae, tickets were a bit expensive compared to buying from India...

Depends on airline algorithms, which can be weird. Try incognito+VPN. Could work out cheaper.
