Thanks Taffy!

I already submitted my Bolivia police certificate with the original application. They wanted an updated one but you can only get a new one if you are living in the country as you require a permanent address. The police certificate was issued in March and I left in June (but returned with work for a month) so hopefully fine.

When do you receive the SIN number and do you know how long it takes?

Thanks!

I'm sure it will be fine. My husbands was two years old by the time he received his PR Did you tell London that you can't get a police certificate unless you reside there.

Yes, I got my SIN straight away too. I just wish they'd hurry up with my PR card as it's going to cause me big problems in March when I want to rent a vehicle in the UK.

Happy new year everyone.....from spreadsheet seems like im still one of the unfortunate 2014 sponsor still waiting for the decision made....when i have no idea whats taking them so long to make a decision...

Oh Mary i hope it comes soon .

They changed the size at the end of November . I am also waiting for that letter. My husband landed 28th Dec and i'm sure they will be asking for reprints for his PR card.

I got my pics taken in Calgary. They took the standard Canadian passport / PR pics. Will this matter? I think they're 70 x 50...

Fuck this shit.........its getting to be more hassle than it's worth........

Hi again all,

Things are progressing (slowly) with our application, but I've got a few more questions for you, the Oracle!

I am a Canadian citizen, hoping to sponsor my British husband. We're both living and working in London. We have one daughter, born in UK, and another baby on the way end of April/early May. Both children will have Canadian Citizenship through me, but we're not going to apply for Citizenship Certificates for either of them until Baby 2 is born in the spring.

We haven't included our daughter on any of the forms apart from in:

1. The Sponsorship Evaluation (IMM5481E), under ‘Number of/details of family members and persons included in undertakings in effect or not yet in effect’, Question 6B – ‘Every other family member financially dependent on you, whether they are living with you or not’.

2. The Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM5540E), Question 12, ‘Are you living with someone’.

3. And Additional Family information (IMM5406E), under Section B, Children.

Have we incorrectly listed our daughter in any of those forms? As far as I can tell, we have left her off anything that relates specifically to being a Sponsored Applicant, but I want to be sure we’ve not forgotten to include her where she should be or added her in where she doesn’t need to be. Advice gratefully received.

Obviously, Baby 2 hasn’t been included anywhere at all (although in our proof of intent to return to Canada, he is mentioned frequently, just not included on any official forms) as he isn’t here yet. We don’t want to hold off until he’s born before submitting our application, and since he will be a Citizen too, we figured this would be okay. Is it?

In a similar vein:

In the Appendix A Document Checklist - Immigrant, point 7: Identity and Civil Status Docs, it asks for '...birth certificates...or other official document confirming relationship for you and each of your family members.' I'm assuming this means for any family members who are also being sponsored (ie dependents of the Sponsored Applicant who aren't Canadian citizens), and therefore we don't need to send our daughter's birth certificate. Is that correct, can anyone tell me?

Also under point 7, it says we should provide a 'Photocopy of Citizenship Certificate...for any family members who are Canadian citizens or PR of Canada.' Again, since I am the Sponsor, I assume I DON'T need to re-submit proof of my Canadian citizenship here (although I don't have a Certificate, only my birth cert/passport as proof). Is that right?

Since we don't yet have the Citizenship Certificates for our children, I'm going to write a statement explaining why (because we’re waiting for Baby 2's birth), and we will apply for them as soon as he is born. It is possible to fast track them, if necessary, but they can take months and months to come…we really don’t want to have to wait until both kids have certificates and THEN submit our sponsorship application. That would add so much time, but is that the only way we’ll get approved? Once we have complete documentation for our children?

Can anyone help? I’m so sorry for the lengthy post. But thank you SO much in advance.

That's the new size so you should be good. When I got my pics taken in July the specification still said 35x45 mm.

Happy new year everyone

As the sponsor you will have to show something that you are Canadian so your passport is fine.
IMMM5540 i listed both my children no proof needed as both born in Canada . Since they are Canadian who also hold British passports i didn't have to send anything.

Yes you are living with your husband and daughter .

IMM5491 #13 is where you would summit a copy of your passport

Kate i would suggest you apply for your daughters certificate now .. I see your logic but this isn't going to satisfy CIC plus i would be sending the birth certificate of your daughter so they can see that you are her mother and hopefully that will be enough until the certificate comes through.

Hey everyone, I'm going to do my landing at Niagara Falls today and was wondering if I need a new passport picture because I think the size has changed? However my COPR arrived with the passport pictures I originally sent so is this ok to take with me?

MrsArun I landed with the picture they sent attached to my COPR and I had no trouble landing.

Thanks very much everyone! That's really helpful! eeeeek, feeling nervous about not having Citizenship certificate for daughter now. Fingers crossed her birth certificate will appease them during the application process.

Good luck. We did ours at the Queenston/Lewiston bridge it took 15 mins .. we used the same photo the old size which came on our corp .

Kate, I landed in December and still don't have my son's Citizenship Certificate (check, check and check again when you apply because they're really slow and I had mine returned twice due to my error, which has cost me months).
I didn't include my son as a PR and it was never questioned during the application process, arrival in Canada (6 months ago) or when we landed.

We flagpoled to activate mine and my daughter's PR and my sone came along too. I explained that he had a CC in process so they gave him another stamp in his passport and sent us on our way.
