I JUST GOT COPR!!!! My wife an I are so excited, I can't believe the wait is finally over, almost 8 months.

The COPR letter just arrived in the mail, ecas never changed to 'in process' so I had no idea they were even working on it, it was a real surprise when it arrived in the mail today.

Great! congratulations! nice to see London spewing out COPR this week after many weeks of nothing...

Thanks Sweden! We're actually looking forward to a proper Alberta winter! -30 and 3 feet of snow sounds great right now--at least it won't be raining all the time like here in Glasgow! Hope that you're enjoying Vancouver!!

BC is good, not being to do anything is not much fun, but so far so good! good luck with moving, I can imagine it's getting more real now that you have completed the paperwork etc!

Hi there...not sure if anybody else has had this experience and can therefore put my mind at rest?

Applied as principal applicant for me and my dependent child (aged 14). On Monday she got a letter saying further medical tests required. Immediately rang DMP who did exam. DMP letter says completion of sections D & E of medical report required. I understand D is bloods, which at 14 she did not need doing and E is x-ray, which was done same time as mine.

Really hoping as they say completion of report in DMP letter that is has just not been completed properly and that my daughters letter is just a standard one. In any event really dont think they should be sending that sort of correspondance to a 14 year old!!

DMP said she has had few odd queries back as London VO moving onto a new system. Any thoughts appreciated to put my mind at rest.

Apparently it's going to be a mild winter again this year!! Although today feels like about -30!! I think I need to get my coat out The lack of rain is still such a wonderful thing!!! I wonder if the novelty will ever wear off??
As long as we don't have snow before Halloween I'm happy! 2 frozen 4yr olds still wanting to go trick-or-treating is not my idea of fun!!!

If you enter a Royal Mail tracking number on the Canada Post website, you can track it once the package enters Canada (not before).


Also, utterly HORRIFIED to read of what has happened to Caddboy. Wishing you the speediest processing once you've resubmitted.


I am reminded of a previous post I made...

I'm one of the few who are >130 days. In many cases there's a reason for it.

In my case I have pending medical stuff being sorted out, otherwise my application looks like it would have been approved in late July (according to my GCMS notes). So I guess once they had finalised and processed/sent the COPR you'd be talking about maybe 60 days for me. That is really fast, but unfortunately the medical stuff held everything back.


Looking at some of the others...

Fhaider appears to be a Pakistani national and the background checks for non-British nationals applying through London typically take far longer. Fhaider was also called to an interview.

s2gordon is pregnant and is therefore not able to complete the x ray for the medical, so presumably will delayed until she can do the x ray.

supergirl116 (britishexpats user) didn't pay the right of permanent residence fee upfront.

JennyFox (britishexpats user) - I can't see any special factors affecting her.

liuminparis was asked for an extra document by London.

CaddBoy - again, can't see any special factors affecting him.


I think that covers everybody whose London timescales are exceeding 4 months now [edit to say - oops, what I mean is everybody who applied in 2012, I didn't check to see if there were any 2011 stragglers...]. There are a couple they're dragging their heels on (JennyFox, CaddBoy) but they seem to be unfortunate exceptions...

Of course we now know Caddboy's application is lost entirely, and JennyFox has since posted on the other site mentioning further documents were requested and, horrifyingly, these also seem to have been lost.

So all of these slow applications have extenuating circumstances involved, which at least tells us that CIC isn't generally going horribly slowly (good news) but as we've found out, paperwork seems to be slipping through their fingers from time to time (awful).

I find it comforting to know that even though there are all these white lines on the London spreadsheet for the people around me, they aren't sitting there with no explanation as to what is going on with their applications. It doesn't change anything for me but it's good to know people aren't in the dark and obviously it makes things clearer for everyone else about what they can expect, etc.

Can you tell I'm trying to look on the bright side here?? :-\

Quick question please, is ur UCI# the same as the application# that was sent with stage#1 approval. The one with a letter then a bunch of numbers?

My UCI is different from any paperwork received before. Basically I E-mailed London 2 times last week because I was very worried about my medicals (I still am to an extent) and was very worried regarding Bonitanita's case and subsequently Caddboy's case. I wanted to know and be certain London had all my paperwork and because my medical is imminent to expire, both E-mail's were answered, 1 yesterday and 1 today. When they sent me today's E-mail they said that you are using your wife's details to login and then he gave me a client I.D for myself (not sure if that UCI was generated today or that no existed before but today was the 1st I knew of it). Also my UCI no was very similar to my wife's only the last 2 digits of the 8 were different.

Yes some shocking things over the last week with applications not forwarded to London, applications lost @ London and paperwork and additional documents going missing. Looking at our spreadsheet, the only application that now has question marks regarding where the VO is @ is Herjeet. He has been waiting ages and his case must be very close to 130 days now, I believe mine is at about 107-108. Herjeet has a relatively straight forward case I believe and has 2 children included in his application.

We have to try and look at the positives as much as possible, I guess with Christmas coming people are a lot more anxious than normal, I know I certainly am and need about 4 weeks from COPR to make it out to Canada so I think at maximum if I dont have my COPR within 3 weeks, I will miss spending Xmas with my family.

haha! Two frozen 4 year olds doesn't sound fun at all. Our little guy will turn 2 the weekend we get to Canada so he's still too little to want to the trick or treating in the frozen tundra thing ....things to look forward to ... i guess . Sounds like Stony is treating you well! We'll have to keep an eye out for a recently immigrated Brit with two chilly 4 year olds when we get there in 5 weeks!!!

Ooh it's so close now! I remember how excited we were as we got closer.
My boys are so excited about getting out and skating on the pond in town again, they had the training skates last year but they get big-boy skates this time, every time we drive past they check to see if it's frozen yet!!

Its great that London seem to be getting back on track with COPRs. Just a quick question, I have noticed a lot of people saying that they have received their COPR but they had not previously received a PPR. Does London not issue PPRs to visa exempt individuals?

I ask because I am from a visa exempt country as is one of my friends. She applied under the FSW route and her passport was requested. I didn't think that there would be a difference.

Hey seamyb,

You are correct, London does not issue PPR's to visa exempt countries. I think when I did my application in some of the forms it asked me to photocopy a bunch of stuff from my passport (not sure it was every page but maybe every stamped page). FSW is a totally different process and should not really be compared to Family class.
