Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Hey all,

So in looking at the August/September threads, it would seem as though people receive their AOR and eCas In Process from Buffalo within 2~ weeks after receiving approval from CIC-Mississauga, is this correct?

So, given the holidays and whatnot, applications are delayed by a couple of weeks, but those expecting AOR/In Process should be getting that by month's end, if approved by CIC-Mississauga before Christmas?

I'm just trying to pinpoint how the applications have been affected by Buffalo office closures. There's no activity in October or November threads at the moment, and I'm guessing Buffalo is getting pretty backed up. I wonder if they'll begin transferring to other offices (e.g. Detroit/New York)?

You'd think so, but check the October thread. My sponsorship was approved in CPC-M November 9, and I didn't hear a peep from Buffalo until December 14--when eCAS updated to show "In Process" since December 6, and I got my AOR. So it was more like 1 month, not 2 weeks. And this was well before Christmas/New Year's holidays.

Plus, no one after me in our thread (applying through Buffalo) has heard anything. It would seem they may have started falling behind even before the holidays.

Rinnerz, it sounds as though no results are typical, other than Mississauga approving sponsorship apps in ~30 days.

As I understand it, Buffalo is also closed on Wednesdays... so no updates from anyone today, and no progress by Buffalo on catching up. How preposterous. I know restaurants are closed on Tuesdays in Germany, and many businesses are closed on Fridays in Israel, but who at CIC decided Wednesday isn't a business day??

I look forward to never thinking or saying anything pertaining to the word 'Buffalo', with the exception of referencing Bison.

For example:

"Oh, look at the Buffalo trying to cross the road!"

or

"Oh no, I think I just hit the last Buffalo with my car!"

or

"Mmmm, this Buffalo meat is tasty!"

Nope. It's "typical" to receive an eCAS update to "In Process" within 2-3 weeks, not a month--at least if the July/August/September threads are any indication. Not hearing anything AFTER that for awhile, however, is--yes--typical. I was pointing out the increased delays in receiving In Process/AORs for people, not the lack of communication after that.

Also, I remember reading at least one thread (here's one of them) in the last few months where someone pointed out that they did hear from Buffalo and/or receive an eCAS update on a Wednesday. This would imply that they do indeed work Wednesdays but are just not open to the public on those days. Their own website says they work Mondays to Fridays, but then if you click on the link for contact info, they warn about not receiving the public on Wednesdays.

And yes, definitely agreed on looking forward to not having to talk about the Buffalo VO sometime in the near future .

about a month and it will be a year since i sent ou application... i am fed up and i cannot stand seeing passport request... i am upset that the file got lost which caused me a delay of about 7 month (including the time to relook at the case) it's not something that makes me happy.. the Holidays were more filled with sadness for me than anything knowing that even if my wife and me could spend more time together we would will be seperated after a few days

oh well next attempt of update will be when i will call my mp office to remind the person to get an update. Hopefully there will be one.. still medical expire which will be redone when asked so more delays and in a week the fbi certificate will expire. we reorder one in case last month. Hopefully they will not request it it will be time saver.

SaugaBoss...I meant to ask if your e-cas changed at all or if the PPR was sent out of the blue?

In case this helps, my husband's PPR email was sent completely out of the blue. ECAS had not changed and it continued to show "in progress" for a few days after he got his visa and landed (he obtained his visa in person in Buffalo and landed in the same day).

So the two aren't always in synch...
