Ahhh...post will take longer to get here then. Bummer...oh well. Hope you are enjoying your time in Canada...they are a tiny bit better at dealing with winter than the UK! lol I live in the Thames Valley and we really have escaped the worst of the snow...this time. We had maybe an inch of snow this morning and the schools closed...in case anyone gets hurt slipping on ice in the schoolground or someone gets hurt with a snowball....kids in Canada would get 6 months off school if they did the same thing!

yes and no Jen. Have you any idea how much better the postal service is in the UK, When we sent the wedding invitations they arrived sooner in the UK than they did in Nova Scotia!! Have faith! Its from the UK to canada that is super slow so you will have a quicker time there.. I used to live in Bexleyheath in London and one day 2 years ago there was no way of getting to work at all couldnt get my car out, all buses suspended and most of the tubes delayed. Snow day tastic for a week. Here it snows three foot and within 5 minutes the roads and cleared everyones driveways cleared up and nobody blinks an eyelid i LOVE it!

Well I can hope they will be quick. I am wondering if mine will be a bit slower as I am the sponsor and haven't lived in Canada for 7 years (used to live in Alberta so I know all about winter there!) I had to prove that I will be re establishing myself in Canada so not sure if that will take longer to approve. Oh well...will have to wait and see. At least we are together and not living in separate countries like so many other couples on here. I would be going completely off the wall if that was our situation! We will have to hang in there...hurry up and wait.

Before I received my letter nothing was showing in ecas, about an hour after my postman had delivered it, all of a sudden it showed in ecas. This is because I used my client ID number which is on the top of the letter when you receive it. Before the letter arrived i only had my receipt number to use and nothing came up at all. We posted our applications on the same day so i can only assume it is down to the postal delivery in your area, but you should be receiving it any day now.
Jen - my brother in law sponsored his partner also but under common law and he had been backpacking for 4 years, he said that there was no complications because of that and it came within normal time. But who knows, maybe post something on this forum regarding the re-establishment and see what other peoples experiences have been.

Yes, there are a few threads about re-establishment on here that I have been reading. Glad to hear it worked well for your brother in law. I am really pleased for you though and hope you have a great celebration tonight for completing step 1. Lets hope the next step goes fast for you too. Your hubby must be over the moon!

jma, I also live in Etobicoke and sent my application by UPS and it was delivered next day. How did you send?

Today we found a brown envelope in our mailbox!!!
"We are pleased to advise that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor."

Now we can finally celebrate for completing the first step of our dream!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you still waiting for an update.

We all have to wait for our days.
JMA I'm sure you'll get your letter very soon. I think you can contact the call center to see if they've started processing your application. Their website states that they're processing applications received on nov 2nd.

Congrats to everyone hearing good news!!!
I am sharing in it as it gives me hope for the future. When I sent my application in Oct and then realizing their mistake sent the money in Nov. they told in the letter that my place was beening saved!!!! I guess they lied otherwise my application would have been reviewed already with a decision being made by now. It has been a week that they have gotten the completed application and they still haven't charged the credit card yet.

Hi everyone,

I'm really excited to hear all the good news flowing in and a big welcome to the newcomers to this thread.

I will get that table updated Sunday evening if everyone can wait til then, I have a family wedding tomorrow and have to travel today.

The waiting game seems to be easier when you don't pay so much attention to it, I'm managing to keep busy with other stuff then every now and again I catch myself not breathing and panicking over whether our application will be approved or not.

No white christmas for us this year... dreaming of snow for next year (assuming the visa all goes well!). The sun is beaming down in Australia and we have camping on the beach to bring in the new year. Hopefully I'll be dancing around the campfire with that blessed sponsorship letter!!!
