Hi all lucky members who got their PR/PPR under NOC 2174 can you please share your job duties/reference letter format with the other poor souls who are trying to get reference letter from their employers. It will be immensely helpful to the others who are about to submit their application.

Most reference letters carry a standard format regardless of noc. The only difference is the duties. For this I would suggest taking the noc duties, and separating them into "headings". Under those wrote one or two duties that you did and match them up. Your duties will be specific to you.

- Write, modify, integrate and test software code
I wrote the code using C++ for project xyz

- Maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required
I had to review project ABC and update sections of code

- Identify and communicate technical problems, processes and solutions
Report to XXX about technical issues raised during the testing of project xyz.

- Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
Keep log of the bugs found in project xyz

- Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements
Sit in with meetings with head of xyz and capture the requirements. Feed these back in next monthly meeting etc

- Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications


- May lead and co-ordinate teams of computer programmers

- May research and evaluate a variety of software products.

I'd be more specific. Mention the program names from your job. What was the name of the web application? What was the name of the existing system? This looks a bit too generic.

Be SPECIFIC as your duties are very generic and not completely believable.

Role Description:
Programmer Analyst (From February 26th 2012 to October 24th 2013)

• Add changes to existing Web pages by developing XML using SDL Tridion tool.
• Develop new Web Services using Struts framework 2.0 as per Clients Requirements.
• Build User Interface using HTML5, JavaScript and JSP’s which leverage the Web services developed and present a free flowing Customer experience in the browser.
• Implement Minor Site Enhancements to the client’s website which includes adding and removal of the fields in UI and changing the static content on the web pages.
