Things I can do before starting the process

Hi Everyone.

I was thinking to start the express entry process. I was reading about it and figured out there are a lot of processes that take a ridicules amount of time such as credential verification, police certificates etc etc. I wanted to know that which of the major steps I can do before making the entry profile. I still havent appeared for IELTS though, as to check the possibility, I used the old IELTS score that I got in 2012. Using that score CRS gave me 486.

A little more background about myself. Currently enrolled in Ph.D in USA, did a masters from UK, originally from Pakistan with 3 years of experience. Any help will be greatly appreciated especially with regards of the processes that I can start early.

Thank you, IELTS is already registered. I am more worried about the police certificate thing. The FBI process takes a lot of time

oh, that is nice. Another question is that the results of ECA, should they be directly sent to Canadian immigration or I have to upload them. Can I start this process now?

Its both ways. When you will request for ECA, the agency/organization will automatically send one copy to IRCC and one to you. You can upload your copy after invitation and it will be verified by IRCC themselves.

You should start that process now, since it takes couple of months sometimes.

Thank you and what about the police clearance certificate? Does it have validation date? Can I get that before as well?

Please apply it once you are nearby the invitation date, or after getting invitation.
