Hi All,
Here is a little about my background in Canada
-Arrived in 1996 (Graduated High School, College, University, have lived about half of my life here)
-Granted PR status 2008
-Applied for citizenship in May 2010
After a full year with no news from CIC in May 2011 I received a letter telling me to go to the Calgary office to write the test.
In June 2011 I went to write the test, that day I got really nervous and for some unbelievable reason I couldn't remember anything and did not pass the test. I called for months trying to find out why I have not received any letters, in November 2011 I lined up at the Calgary office and the man working there finally told me that I failed the test and now I have to meet a Judge... he mentioned that it take about 8-12 months to set up the appointment (start from the time I wrote the exam- June 2011).
So as of right now June 2011 I have called the CIC number and was told it takes about 19 Months from the time of the exam, which means I have to wait until January 2013 (Almost 3 years after I sent the application)
I am 100% responsible for not passing the test, that day was probably one of the worst days of my life, but bottom line I didn't pass.
I want to get my citizenship so bad, since I have been living here and call this country 'Home'... as of right now I have to passed on job opportunities since I am not Canadian and makes life extremely hard for me and my family.
Also I have tried to contact Rob Anders (my MP) only to get rude responses from his staff, I have tried to do everything to help my citizenship process and right now I feel completely be up by a system that only look at a test score.
The process of becoming a Canadian Citizen was meant to be a joyful time in my life instead is has become an unfortunate and sad event to get through!

Hi dear,
My brother failed the test in March 2012. I was wondering after how long did the judge call you?
Please reply me...

Thank you
Jav

you could write a letter to the local immigration office explaining why you failed the exam and what are the opportunities you missed. Calling CIC may not help much as you get into someone who is irrelevant to your case. If you write to the local office, they will definitely respond.

I think you are taking this a bit too hard. There are loads of job opportunities for people who are not citizens and actually very few that are limited to citizens only. Many people live happily in Canada all their life without getting it so I don't see why you are letting this ruin your life.

Just stop thinking about it and go on with your life as a PR. Eventually it'll come through.

By the way, I waited 2.5 years before they even let me do the exam. I don't even know why, I actually think they must have lost my file there for a while and found again during spring cleaning but you know what, to me it did not matter because I was happily living and working in Canada at the time, as a PR.

The OP's thread was back in June 2012 so for the sake of his health hope he got his day with the judge. Timeline to see a judge seems to be 1-2 years depending on local office and how many judges they have. Check CIC website for number of judges at your local Office...if its just the one person then time to interview is going to be ugly cos people read the judge get sick, go on vacation etc!!
