Can anyone explain if I need to provide the PCC for countries where I stayed for more than 6 months.
in my case, I have stayed in two countries for 1 year each.

i actually applied in March 2020 under the family class spouse sponsorship program and today got my documents back because i forgot to put the proof of Canadian status in my application. IRCC sent me a letter about the missing document.
in my application, I just sent the PCC for the country where i am currently living so they did not mention if any PCC is missing, but i am still confused because i do not want to wait another 9 months and later get back the document due to missing PCC.
on the other hand getting, PCC is a hard task now as I am no more a resident of those countries where I had lived.

i called two times to IRCC number and both times I got conflicting answers, one of them said I can just send the missing documents and put a new date on the forms and the other told me that i need a PCC for any country where i have lived more than 6 months

Follow whatever it says in your country specific checklist, if it doesn't ask for it then you don't need to provide it.

For PCC, on document checklist for spouse sponsorship it's written as to provide PCC for country of current residence And the country where you have lived most of your life since age 18.
The point to note that in document checklist there are only these two points and they used the word country and not countries.
But i am confused because for express entry program it's written to provide pcc for all the countries where you have lived more than 6 months in last 10 years.

I had the same dilemma back then when I was applying, but sent only what they asked for in the checklist. Later on they sent me a request letter to submit two more PCC from countries I lived for more than six months.

if country like some 3rd world extremely hard to get PCC from, just dont mention it you lived there, ircc cannot check 195 country around the world for entry history for every applicant, its just not possible.

actually, in my returned documents they have mentioned the missing documents but on the next page, they wrote a note that now PCC is required for the completeness of the application, which would mean that before they used to ask for PCC if missing but now they need it beforehand otherwise application could be returned back again

Intentionally omitting information is not a good idea, could be considered misrepresentation which could result in a 5 year application ban. Do you know what resources they have or don't have to make that comment?

I was watching a program called "The Fifth Estate" episode called "Ghost Immigrants" (not Ghost updates).
So in this documentary an immigration "consultant" (not affiliated with Phalos Consultancy) was stamping FAKE entry stamps (charging $9000) into Chinese passports to make it look like the PR was living in Canada. They don't have the resources to check even a fake passport stamp.
That said, I mean I am by no means encouraging misrepresentation.

IRCC does learn from abuses of the immigration system and databases get better and more complex every year so it would be a huge risk to misrepresent your situation.

Out of curiosity because I'm in a similar situation, were the two additional PCCs for countries you lived in for more than six months in a row or just six months total? (I've been trying to decide if I should get an extra PCC from a country where I spent 2-3 months for three summers in a row, but never longer than 3 months at a time.)
