A friend of mine is having this same problem. She completed the application as necessary for a 10 day tourist visa. She has a good job with PTT (Thailand Oil and Gas Company), and earns decent wages for Thailand. She has no relatives in Canada, only in Thailand. She had over $5000 in her account (which should be enough for 10 days only) along with a credit card. She is attending school and is in the last year of her MBA. She submitted a full itinerary detailing all activities planned while in Canada along with return plane tickets. Her family is from the upper class and her father is even in the Thai government.

To me, her application showed nothing but a commitment to return to Thialand. There is literally no reason why she would overstay in Canada. Yet they refused her entry because they suspect she will not return home.

The only hiccup i can think of, is that she had an Australian friend help her write the cover letter (so it is in proper english) but she does not speak it as fluently. After they had an interview with her they probably knew she didn't write it herself. She did not assign a representative, so they may have suspected her of having a boyfriend or husband write that for her.

I advised her to phone the Embassy and ask them to specify what exactly she could use to satasfy their concerns. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Thanks in advance!!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I have heard that it's hard to get approved by the Thai embassy. Did she have a letter showing that she would have to return because of her studies/job?

I asked her to send me all her application supporting documents so i can review for her. I will let you know when i can confirm. But i do believe she had a letter from her employer, but not from the school.
