Temporary worker renewing LMO and permit

Hi brothers and sisters

My situation is this.

I applied for Permanent Residency through Buffalo for Skilled Worker about 2 months ago. An immigration rep advised me that I still need a valid LMO and Temporary work permit if I wish to continue working while I wait (which obviously I do, as PR takes 8-10 months).

My employer forgot to apply for a new LMO until today. Work started the process today for a new LMO, so it will take approximately 6 weeks or so. After that I will apply immediately for a new Temporary Work Permit to cover me until the PR comes through.

My concern is that my current LMO and TWP expire May 31st, which looks like it come too soon for me to get the new LMO/TWP. What happens then? Must I cease work? Must I have a get an extension on my Social Insurance Number to continue working? What if I applied for a new TWP and said I was waiting on a new LMO? Would that be an option?

there are 8-9 weeks to may 31. If you get a positive LMO before that, you are good. You will be under implied status, so you can continue working. But your medical and sin cannot be extended, but that does not mean you cant work, and your employer cannot remove you for that reason (90 days of implied status). So get your LMO before may 31.
